It feels like it's been a while since I've been on here. It feels like it's been a while since I've baked! I FINALLY got to the Valentine's cupcakes I had been meaning to make all weekend. Got a little busy with the parents coming to visit and the whole job search thing.

I thought these were just beautiful. They were the perfect size and they smelled amazing. I kind of didn't want to do anything to them! But I had to...or else it wouldn't have been the Valentine's cupcakes!

Voila! Beautiful. And they taste good too! Here are a few more pictures.

The inside had another cherry and a cherry cream cheese filling. Of course I had to pick the one with these least amount of filling, but you get the idea. Also, it wasn't until I was frosting the last few cupcakes that I noticed I made the same cupcakes that were on my apron. I felt like a dork. P.S. I sprayed Pam on the liners and they came off beautifully.

HOT Brownies.

Made some hot brownies the other day. Why are the called HOT brownies? Because I put jalapeños in them. My sister gave me these murder mystery books for Christmas and the main character is upset with her on again off again boyfriend so she decided to make some brownies with jalapeños to piss him off. It didn't work. Because they are goooooood. I cheated and used a box mix for the brownies and just added diced jalapeños. I didn't want to go into a lot of effort just in case they were going to be thrown out.

Deceiving huh? They just look like regular brownies! The jalapeño adds a little bit of crunch, the smallest hint of flavor and leaves your mouth warm. It not hot what so ever. This is definitely a great combination.

Yum.

Hello again! These next cupcakes get 23984239 thumbs up. I won't make you wait any longer!

Strawberry cheese cake! My favorite part was the icing. It was so light and fluffy! But that's not all!
SURPRISE! A strawberry inside. Bet you weren't expecting that! These shouldn't last too long over here. A problem I'm having is every cupcake I have made sticks to the liner....I'm wondering if I should brush it with butter first. Any suggestions would be nice!

Oui Oui!

These are called gateau de savoie. Which means savoy cake. Savoy means having a compact head and wrinkled leaves.....*yawn*... These cupcakes don't have cabbage in them, no worries. It's pretty much just a sponge cake. I added butterscotch morsels and topped it with honey, cinnamon, and powdered sugar. Is it the florescent lights that make all my cupcakes look bright yellow?! I should take them outside for some natural light...P.S. These are really good. I love butterscotch.

Pikachu!

Yesterday I made black and white cupcakes....They were good. Not the best but they were just basic chocolate and vanilla. The chocolate icing sucked. I was too busy frosting the white half to notice the chocolate icing was getting too hot....So I cheated. I used store bought chocolate icing.

Don't they look like pokemon balls? I thought it was funny. I promise to get better at this baking thing....it's been a while so I'm rusty. =(
